Archana, an IAS officer of the 2002 West Bengal cadre, was born on 30 September 1977. She holds an M.B.B.S. degree and is currently serving as Secretary in the Animal Resources Development Department since 3 December 2019. Throughout her career, she has held various positions including Secretary, Managing Director, Additional Secretary, Development Commissioner, Commissioner, District Magistrate, Collector, Director, Special Secretary, Additional District Magistrate, Sub Divisional Officer, Assistant Collector and Executive Magistrate, and Officer on Special Duty. She has received the Award for Best Practices to Improve the Living Environment. Archana is proficient in English and Hindi.
