Apurva Chandra, born on 19 September 1964, is a 1988 batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre. He holds a B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Civil and Structural Engineering from IIT Delhi, and a Diploma in Business Finance from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India. Currently, he serves as Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, since 5 February 2024. His extensive career includes roles such as Secretary, Special Secretary, Director General, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Resident Commissioner, Commissioner, Private Secretary, Deputy Secretary, District Collector, Controller, CEO, and Managing Director. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
