A graduate in History, he served in various capacities including Joint Secretary, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Commissioner, Director, Secretary, District Magistrate, Additional Commissioner, Special Secretary, District Collector and Magistrate, Chief Development Officer, Assistant Collector, and Joint Secretary Equivalent. His most recent role was Joint Secretary at New Delhi from 5 August 2017 to 3 January 2019. He also served in the Department of Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India during his distinguished career.
