Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Managing Director, District Collector and Magistrate, and Executive Magistrate. His most recent position was Secretary in the Finance Department from December 2, 2013, to September 30, 2015. Misra's extensive administrative experience spans multiple roles within the Uttar Pradesh government.
