Amitava Banerjee, born on September 9, 1966, is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2010 batch, belonging to the West Bengal cadre. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Calcutta University. Currently, he serves as the Senior Special Secretary in the Planning and Statistics Department, a position he has held since November 16, 2021. Prior to this role, he was appointed as Special Commissioner. Mr. Banerjee continues to serve in the IAS, contributing to the administrative framework of West Bengal.
