Amitabha Bhattacharya, born on June 1, 1948, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1987 West Bengal cadre. He held various positions including Registrar, Special Secretary, Director, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, Land Acquisition Officer, and Additional District Magistrate. His most recent role was Special Secretary in the Food and Civil Supplies Department from December 24, 2007, to May 31, 2008. Amitabha holds a Diploma in Industrial Relations, a Graduate degree in Political Science, and an LL.M. in Law.
