Dr. Amitabh Rajan, born on January 1, 1955, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1979 Maharashtra cadre. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from JNU Delhi, an M.A. in History from JNU, and a graduate degree in History (Hons) from Bihar University. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Additional Secretary, Resident Commissioner, Principal Secretary & Commissioner, Chairman & Managing Director, Secretary, Commissioner, Director, Deputy Secretary, District Collector, Additional Collector, and SDO. His most recent position was Additional Secretary at Maharashtra. Dr. Rajan received multiple awards, including the SCOPE Meritorious Award, ICAI Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting,
