Amitabh Kant, born on March 1, 1956, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1980 Kerala cadre. He served as the Group of Twenty Sherpa from February 4, 2023, to June 16, 2025. Prior to this, he held the position of Chief Executive Officer. Fluent in Hindi and Malayalam, Kant has had a distinguished career in the IAS.
