Amit Khare, born on 14 September 1961, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1985 Jharkhand cadre. He holds a B.Sc. in Physics, a Diploma in Business Administration, and an MBA in Management from IIM Ahmedabad. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary to the Vice-President at New Delhi from 14 September 2025, Adviser, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Member Secretary, Joint Secretary, Fin Commissioner, Commissioner, District Collector and District Magistrate, and Director. He was awarded the Second Prize in Phase V of the Mid Career Training Programme for IAS Officers. He is proficient in English and Hindi.
