Amarendra Sinha, born on June 19, 1957, is a retired IAS officer from the 1981 Uttarakhand cadre. He holds postgraduate and graduate degrees in Political Science and an LL.B. from Delhi University. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary, Special Secretary & Development Commissioner Equivalent, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Principal Secretary, and District Collector and Magistrate. His most recent position was Secretary of the Department of Minority Affairs from October 1, 2015, to June 30, 2017. Sinha’s extensive administrative experience spans multiple roles across different departments and levels of governance.
