Alok Kumar Basu, born on March 5, 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 batch, West Bengal cadre. A graduate by education, he served in various capacities including Managing Director, Director, General Manager, and Additional Magistrate. His most recent position was Director in the Food- Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department, held from May 1, 1999, to March 31, 2002. Throughout his career, Basu contributed to the administrative framework of his cadre until his retirement.
