Akanksha Bhaskar, an IAS officer of the 2015 batch from the West Bengal cadre, was born on July 13, 1990. She holds an M.B.B.S. degree from Calcutta University and an M.A. in Public Management from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Currently, she serves as the District Magistrate of Jhargram, West Bengal, a position she has held since October 27, 2025. Her previous roles include Joint Secretary, Sub Divisional Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Assistant Secretary, Officer on Special Duty, and Additional District Magistrate of Basirhat. She received the Best Electoral Practices award in 2018 from the CEO office of West Bengal.
