Ajit Ranjan Bardhan, born on May 4, 1964, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1989 batch, West Bengal cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Geology, a postgraduate degree in Applied Geology, and an M.Tech. in Mineral Exploration. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Director, Secretary, Managing Director, and Principal Secretary. His most recent position was Additional Chief Secretary in the Urban Development Department, starting December 29, 2020. Bardhan’s extensive administrative experience spans multiple senior roles within the government of West Bengal.
