Ajay Yadav, born on June 10, 1978, is a 2006 batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a B.A. from Pune University and an M.Phil. Currently, he serves as Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, New Delhi, a position he has held since October 3, 2022. Throughout his career, he has held various roles including Joint Secretary, Director, Deputy Secretary, Joint Commissioner, District Collector, Commissioner, Assistant Collector, Managing Director, Controller of Examinations, Project Director, Additional Director, District Magistrate, and Chairman and Managing Director. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Sanskrit.
