Ajay Prakash Sawhney, born on February 4, 1962, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 batch, Andhra Pradesh cadre. A graduate in Mechanical Engineering, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary, and Principal Secretary. He held leadership roles such as President & CEO and Managing Director. Most recently, he was Secretary of the Electronics and Information Technology Department from June 23, 2017, to February 28, 2022. His extensive career encompassed diverse administrative responsibilities across multiple departments and positions within the Indian government.
