Ajay Narayan Jha, born on 15 January 1959, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1982 Manipur cadre. He holds a B.A. Honours in History, a Certificate in French, and a postgraduate degree in History. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary, Special Secretary, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor, Principal Secretary, Deputy Election Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioner. He also held roles such as Secretary to the Chief Minister and Secretary to the Governor. His most recent position was Member of the Finance Commission from 1 March 2019 to 31 January 2019.
