Ajay Chauhan, born on 24 September 1973, is a 1998 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds a B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering. Currently, he serves as the Principal Secretary at Lucknow in the Public Works Department since 17 September 2022. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Director, Commissioner, Vice Chairman, District Magistrate, Managing Director, Additional Commissioner, District Collector and Magistrate, Under Secretary, Chief Executive Officer, Joint Magistrate, Junior Scale, and Sub Collector. He is proficient in English and Hindi and continues to serve in the IAS.
