Ajai Seth, born on 30 June 1965, is a 1987 batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, a PG Diploma in Financial Management, and a Certificate in Computers. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) since 2 September 2025. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Secretary to Government of India, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Managing Director, Commissioner, Director, Deputy Secretary, and Deputy Commissioner. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Kannada. Ajai Seth continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
