Ajai Seth, born on June 30, 1965, is a 1987 batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre. Currently serving as Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) since September 2, 2025, he holds a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, a PG Diploma in Financial Management, and a certificate in Computers. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Managing Director, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Principal Secretary to Government, Secretary, Adviser Director Equivalent, Deputy Commissioner, and Assistant Commissioner. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Kannada. Ajai Seth continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
