Aariz Aftab, born on 24 December 1964, is a 1991 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre. He holds an M.B.A. in Human Resource Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University, and both B.E. and M.Sc. degrees from BITS Pilani. Currently, he serves as Chief Electoral Officer and Ex-Officio Additional Chief Secretary in the Home and Hill Affairs Department since 15 February 2017. His past roles include Commissioner, Secretary, Deputy Collector/Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Director, Registrar, District Magistrate, and Chief Executive Officer. He received an award for outstanding contribution to the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana. He is proficient
