A Subbiah, born on 30 May 1963, is a retired IAS officer from the 1992 West Bengal cadre. He holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Madras University and a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of North Bengal. His most recent position was Principal Secretary to the Government in the Agriculture and Cooperation Department from 3 June 2022. Throughout his career, he served in various roles including Divisional Commissioner, Secretary, Chairman, and District Magistrate. He received the Presidential Shield for best District Collector in 2005 and for best administered local committee in 2004, recognized for his work with disabled persons.
