A S Joshi, born on January 6, 1952, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1993 Gujarat cadre. He served as Principal Secretary in the General Administration Department, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from November 7, 2009, to January 31, 2012. His previous roles include Secretary to Governor, Director, Director (Administration), Additional Development Commissioner, and District Development Officer. Joshi holds a graduate degree in English and an M.A. in English from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, as well as an M.A. in Rural Development from the University of East Anglia, U.K.
