A P Basu, born on October 10, 1935, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1982 batch, West Bengal cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Economics and a postgraduate qualification in Bengali. Throughout his career, Basu served in various capacities including Junior Scale, Deputy Secretary, Additional Executive Officer, Director, and Joint Secretary. His most recent position was Joint Secretary in the Human Resources Department, from July 1, 1991, to October 1, 1993. Basu's extensive service reflects his long-standing commitment to administrative roles within the Indian government.
