A M Raman, born on 12 September 1946, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1980 Tamil Nadu cadre. Over his career, he held numerous positions including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Managing Director, Additional Secretary, Executive Director, and Secretary. He served as Vice Chairman, Chairperson, Commissioner, and Additional District Magistrate. His most recent role was Additional Secretary in the Science and Technology Department at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from 20 July 2006 to 30 September 2006. Throughout his service, he contributed to various administrative capacities within the Tamil Nadu government.
