A D Samant, born on 16 June 1931, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1954 batch, Maharashtra cadre. He holds a graduate degree and a postgraduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary, Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, Director, Deputy Secretary, Regional Manager, CEO, Under Secretary, and Assistant Collector. His most recent designation was Joint Secretary at Maharashtra in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
