The Tamil Nadu government has carried out a major reshuffle of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, transferring and posting more than 30 officials across key departments, district administrations, and state-owned entities.
Among the notable changes, E. Sundaravalli, Commissioner of Collegiate Education, has been appointed Special Secretary to the Government, Public and Rehabilitation Department, while R. Lalitha has been posted as Secretary to the Government (Expenditure), Finance Department.
Several district collectors were reassigned. Pratik Tayal was appointed Tiruchirappalli District Collector. New collectors were also appointed for Kallakurichi, Ranipet, Namakkal, Tirunelveli, Vellore, Chengalpattu, and other districts.
The government also created temporary IAS cadre posts, including Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise, Director of Town Panchayats, Director of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy, and Director of Rehabilitation and Welfare of Non-Resident Tamils.
