Rajasthan Government Makes Major Administrative Reshuffle

Transfers 53 IAS, 24 IPS and 34 IFS officers as part of 224 key transfers, with DC Arvind Poswal becoming Joint Secretary, CMO  

In a major bureaucratic shake-up in Rajasthan late night on Friday, the state government led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma executed a bulk transfer of senior administrative officers, including 53 IAS officers, 24 IPS officers, 34 IFS officers and 113 RAS officers. 

The reshuffle has changed the leadership of several departments and districts, including the appointment of former District Collector Arvind Poswal as Joint Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office. 

Prominent among those senior officers shifted in the exercise include Ashutosh A T Pednekar, who has been appointed Secretary of the Tribal Area Development Department, and Ravi Kumar Surpur, who will take over as Divisional Commissioner of Bikaner. 

Bhanu Prakash Eturu has been transferred as Secretary of the Higher and Technical Education Department, while Namit Mehta will become the District Collector and District Magistrate for Udaipur. Avichal Chaturvedi has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Home Department, while Iqbal Khan has now been posted as Commissioner of the Medical Education Department, and P Ramesh as the Secretary, Labour and ECIS.

Ria Dabi, the sister of IAS officer Tina Dabi, has been appointed CEO of Udaipur Zila Parishad, transferring her from her previous position as SDM of Girwa. Four new IAS officers have been appointed as SDMs in various districts, including Juhi Kar Pratik, who has been assigned Commissioner of the newly-formed Bharatpur Development Authority.

Similarly, in cases of IPS officers, the government transferred Dausa SP Ranjita Sharma as SP in the Police headquarters in Jaipur, replacing her with Sagar, the DCP (Traffic) of Jaipur. 

Other notable changes among IPS officers include S Parimala as Inspector General of Police (Personnel), Kishan Sahay Meena as Inspector General of Police (Human Rights) and Satyendra Singh as Inspector General CID (CB).

Among other IPS officers, Pradeep Mohan Sharma has been posted as Deputy Director, Rajasthan Police Academy, and Kewal Ram Rao has been given charge of SP, CID (Human Rights).

Among RAS officers, Navneet Kumar has been appointed Revenue Appeal Officer in Barmer, and Harphool Singh Yadav has been transferred as Additional Commissioner CAD in Kota. Kamla Alaria will serve as the Registrar of Bikaner University, while Sohan Ram Chaudhary has been appointed Land Management Officer of Alwar.

As part of this mega bureaucratic reshuffle, the state government has also appointed new divisional commissioners for Jaipur, Bikaner, Kota and Udaipur. Rajendra Singh Shekhawat, who was waiting for a posting, has been appointed Divisional Commissioner of Kota. Shakti Singh Rathore has been named Commissioner of the Tribal Area Development (TAD), Udaipur.
