Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivas Gets Six-Month Tenure Extension

The tenure extension will be effective from September 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027

The Centre has approved a six-month extension in service for Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, a 1989-batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), in a letter dated August 20, 2026, conveyed the Central government’s approval to the Rajasthan government for extending V Srinivas’s service for another six months.

According to the DoPT communication, the extension will be effective from September 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027.

The extension has been granted under Rule 16(1) of the All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958.

Srinivas is currently serving as the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan government submitted the extension proposal through a letter dated July 23, 2026.

The approval was communicated by Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Under Secretary to the Government of India, to the Principal Secretary, General Administration Department, Government of Rajasthan.
