A 2001-batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre, Nehra earlier served as the municipal commissioner of Rajkot and Ahmedabad and also as the district collector of Vadodara and Ahmedabad.

According to the notification issued by the General Administration Department, Nehra has been relieved to report for central deputation after his appointment as the senior directing staff at the National Defence College under the Ministry of Defence in New Delhi.

The state government has given the additional charge of the science and technology department to the 1996-batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer Mona Khandhar, principal secretary, panchayats, rural housing and rural development department.

Supreet Gulati, the CEO of the Development Support Agency of Gujarat (D-SAG), has been given an additional charge as the CEO of the Special Project of Dholera SIR and Mandal-Bechraji SIR. He is a 2008-batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre.
