The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a series of important administrative decisions concerning senior civil and police officers. Four officers from different Central Services have been empanelled for holding posts of Joint Secretary or equivalent in the Government of India.
In separate decisions, the ACC extended the central deputation tenure of IAS officer Brij Mohan Mishra by six months and approved the premature repatriation of CRPF Special Director General Rajesh Kumar, IPS, to his parent AGMUT cadre with immediate effect.
Four Officers Empanelled
According to the Information Notes issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the following officers have been empanelled for Joint Secretary or equivalent-level positions at the Centre:
• Rose Mary K. Abraham – IES (2006)
• Timothy Tajonang Gonmei – IRPS, 2001 Batch (2000 Exam)
• Anjana Vashishtha – ICAS (2005)
• Navin Kumar Vidyarthi – ISS (2004)
The empanelment represents the participation of multiple organised Central Services in the senior administrative structure of the Union Government. However, empanelment does not automatically imply an immediate appointment. It establishes an officer's eligibility for consideration for Joint Secretary-level positions, subject to vacancies and other applicable requirements.
IAS Brij Mohan Mishra’s Deputation Extended by Six Months
In another decision, the ACC approved the proposal of the Department of Commerce to extend the central deputation tenure of Shri Brij Mohan Mishra, IAS (AGMUT: 2008) by six months beyond November 16, 2026. Mishra is scheduled to take up the position of Minister (Economic and Commercial) at the Embassy of India in Tokyo, Japan.
The extension will remain effective for six months or until he is relieved to assume his new assignment in Tokyo, whichever is earlier. The decision ensures continuity in his current administrative assignment while facilitating his transition to an important diplomatic and economic responsibility overseas.
Rajesh Kumar Repatriated to AGMUT Cadre
In a significant development concerning senior police administration, the ACC approved the Ministry of Home Affairs' proposal for the premature repatriation of Shri Rajesh Kumar, IPS (AGMUT: 1995), Special Director General, CRPF, to his parent AGMUT cadre with immediate effect.
