MHA appoints 1994-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer; incumbent Satish Golcha directed to report to Lieutenant Governor for further posting

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday issued orders appointing Anurag Kumar, IPS (AGMUT:1994) as the new Commissioner of Police, Delhi.

According to the order issued by the MHA, Anurag Kumar will assume charge with immediate effect from the date he takes over the office and will continue in the post until further orders.

The ministry has also directed the incumbent Satish Golcha, IPS (AGMUT:1992) to report to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi for further posting after handing over charge to the new Police Commissioner.

The appointment order was issued with the approval of the Competent Authority by the Ministry of Home Affairs on July 17, 2026. The change in leadership comes as part of the Centre's administrative reshuffle in the Delhi Police.
