Another Senior Forest Officer Moves to Delhi: Satovisha Samajdar Appointed Director in NHRC

Chhattisgarh Cadre IFoS Officer Gets Five-Year Central Deputation Under the Ministry of Home Affairs

Satovisha Samajdar, National Human Rights Commission, Indian Forest Service, Central Staffing Scheme

The Central Government has appointed Ms. Satovisha Samajdar (IFoS: Chhattisgarh Cadre, 2010 batch) as Director in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Delhi, under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme for a tenure of five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Competent Authority has approved her appointment and directed the Chhattisgarh Government to relieve her immediately so that she can assume charge in New Delhi.

The order further reiterates the existing ACC guidelines that officers appointed under the Central Staffing Scheme are required to join their new assignment within three weeks from the date of issuance of the appointment order. Failure to do so could result in debarment from the Central Staffing Scheme.

Ms Samajdar, a 2010-batch Indian Forest Service officer, will now serve in one of India's premier statutory human rights institutions, where she is expected to contribute to administrative and policy functions related to the Commission's mandate.
