ACC Extends Central Deputation of Gujarat-Cadre IAS Officer D. Thara Till December 2026
Additional Secretary in Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs to continue in upgraded post; tenure extended up to December 5 or until further orders

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of central deputation tenure of senior Gujarat-cadre IAS officer D. Thara (IAS: 1995 batch), who is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the ACC has extended her tenure in the Central Government up to December 5, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The extension has been granted by continuing the temporary upgradation of the post, enabling D. Thara to remain in her current position as Additional Secretary in the ministry. The decision reflects the Centre’s confidence in her ongoing role in urban development, housing, and flagship urban governance initiatives.
D. Thara, a Gujarat-cadre IAS officer of the 1995 batch, has held several key administrative assignments during her career and is currently associated with major policy and implementation initiatives under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
