ACC Approves One-Year Extension of Hemang Jani’s Foreign Deputation at the World Bank

The government has extended the foreign deputation of Hemang Jani as Senior Adviser to the Executive Director at the World Bank by one year until July 16, 2027, ensuring continuity in India's representation at the multilateral institution.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance, to extend the foreign deputation of Hemang Jani as Senior Adviser to the Executive Director, World Bank, Washington, D.C., USA.

According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on July 15, 2026, the extension has been granted for one year beyond July 16, 2026, i.e., up to July 16, 2027, or until the post is taken over by his successor, whichever is earlier.

The extension ensures continuity in India’s representation and policy engagement at the World Bank, where Jani has been serving as Senior Adviser to the Executive Director on foreign deputation.
