ACC Approves Key Bureaucratic Reshuffle

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday approved a series of senior-level bureaucratic appointments across key ministries and departments.

According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), IAS officer Manish Bhardwaj (Gujarat cadre, 1997 batch), currently serving as Secretary in the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has been appointed as Adviser in the Inter-State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs. He will serve in the rank and pay of an Additional Secretary to the Government of India.

Saurabh Vijay (Maharashtra cadre, 1998 batch) has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, also in the rank of Additional Secretary.

The ACC also appointed Nilkanth S. Avhad (Punjab cadre, 1999 batch) as Secretary, NDMA.

In another appointment, Priyank Bharti (Punjab cadre, 2001 batch), presently Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has been given additional charge as Director General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

Further, Richa Misra, an Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer of the 1996 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
