Hari Ranjan Rao, born on 27 May 1969, is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1994 Madhya Pradesh cadre. He holds a B.E. in Electronics and a postgraduate degree in Public Policy and Management from IIM Bangalore. Currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Sports under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports since 18 April 2025, Rao has held various positions including Administrator, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Principal Secretary to Government, Managing Director, Commissioner, Secretary to Chief Minister, District Collector, and Home Affairs Additional Secretary. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Kannada.
