Vikrant Pandey appointed Gujarat's new Resident Commissioner in Delhi

The officer recently returned from central deputation to the state

The Gujarat government on Wednesday evening said Dr Vikrant Pandey stands promoted to super time scale with effect from 9 June, 2021 and has been appointed as Resident Commissioner of Gujarat in New Delhi.

Pandey, a 2005 batch IAS officer who recently returned after a posting from Delhi, will take over from Arti Kanwar as the Resident Commissioner based in Delhi, an order issued by the Governor of Gujarat indicated.

The officer, who had been on a central deputation, is on leave till Friday. 

Pandey had earlier served as the District Collector of Ahmedabad. In November 2019, he was however sent on central deputation and appointed as the Director of the Inter-State Council under the Union Home Ministry. 

He has also served as the Collector of Rajkot in Gujarat prior to his posting at Ahmedabad. Originally from Rajasthan, Vikrant Pandey is a medical doctor by training.
