Vibrant Gujarat 2027: AI, Zonal Summits, And New Policies In Focus

The road to Vibrant Gujarat 2027 gets a high-tech upgrade with mini summits at Mehsana, Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat and AI entering the scene for the first time. Over 8 new policies across key sectors will also be unveiled

The wait for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit just got a little longer. Originally slated for 2026, the much anticipated 11th edition of the global investment summit has now been pushed to 2027, following strategic directions from the top leadership. But the excitement wont be on hold for long—to keep the momentum going, the Gujarat government is gearing up to host a series of mini Vibrant events across four key regions: North Gujarat, Central Gujarat, Kutch-Saurashtra, and South Gujarat. These zonal summits aim to build up local investor engagement and set the stage for the big event.

A senior official from the Industries Department mentioned that these zonal summits had also been part of the strategy during the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Summit in 2024. It helps reach out to potential investors on a more local level. This time around, in a first, the state plans to take things a step further by incorporating advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the events. On top of that, the government is preparing to roll out eight new policies, focused on industries and energy, to attract domestic and international investors.

Sources from the state secretariat revealed that the 11th edition was originally set for 2026, with ₹175 crore earmarked for it in the 2025 26 budget. However, the timeline has been revised to make sure all regions of the state get a chance to actively participate and benefit. As part of this revised approach, four zonal events will now be organized and there’s also talk of promoting the main event across other Indian states.

Following the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, held in January 2024, the state government claimed to have attracted investment proposals worth ₹45 lakh crore, based on over 98,540 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). It witnessed participation from 35 partner countries, with delegations representing mover than 100 nations. According to official figures, 131,943 participants registered for the three-day summit, including 3,590 international delegates.

As for the upcoming zonal events, a senior official from iNDEXTb shared that Mehsana will host the North Gujarat summit, Vadodara will host the Central Gujarat summit, Rajkot will be the venue for the Saurashtra event and Surat will represent the South Gujarat summit. District collectors, municipal officials and local authorities in these zones have been asked to start preparations and to identify potential investment locations.

In the meantime, the state government is also gearing up to introduce a fresh wave of long-term policies to lure global industrial players to the state. A new industrial policy — expected to be more investor- friendly than the existing one — is being finalized. It will replace the existing policy. Likewise, the Tourism department is working on a revamped policy as the current version is set to expire this year. In the green energy space, the Energy department is planning to launch six new policies covering areas like green hydrogen, biofuel, pumped storage, wind power, small hydro and power generation.
