Vallabhbhai M Patel Re-Appointed IRFC Independent Director
Abiding by the SEBI guidelines, the Indian Railway owned PSU has confirmed to the capital market that Patel is not related to any of the Directors, or Key Managerial Personnel of the company, and holds no shares in the IRFC

The Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd (IRFC) has decided to re-appoint Vallabhbhai Maneklal Patel as a ‘Part-time Non-Official Independent Director’ on its Board. A resolution in this regard was adopted by the company's Board of Directors at its meeting on April 15, and it was accordingly announced that the appointment was effective from April 16, 2025.
In the resolution, the IRFC board said, “Pursuant to regulation 30 & 51 read with Schedule III of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, and other applicable regulations, this is to inform that as per the Ministry of Railways (MoR), Government of India Order No. 2024/PL/57/38 dated 15th April, 2025, Shri Vallabhbhai Maneklal Patel (DIN: 07713055) has been co-opted as an Additional Director designated as Non-official Independent Director on the Board of the Company w.e.f. 16th April, 2025 by Board of Directors…”
Patel, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Gujarat University, brings extensive experience in business, finance, and cooperative banking. Since 1998, he has been associated with Ganesh Ginning & Pressing Factory, managing its operations and contributing significantly to the cotton processing sector.
He has represented the industry in prominent forums such as FICCI and the Cotton Ginning and Pressing Association.
Patel also has exposure in the banking sector at leadership positions, as he held the position of being the Vice Chairman of Kadi Nagrik Sahakari Bank Limited from 2002 to 2005, and is also a Member of the Advisory Board of The Kalupur Commercial Cooperative Bank Limited, Gandhinagar.
Patel is credited with being involved in various educational and Philanthropic activities, as he is the Chairman of Sarva Vidyalaya Kelvani Mandal. Presently, he holds the posts of President of Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya, Gandhinagar, Chairman of Kava Patidar Kelvani Uttejak Mandal, and Director of Sarva Vidyalaya Innovation Foundation, a registered firm under Section 8 of the Companies Act.
In line with SEBI regulations, IRFC confirmed that Patel is not related to any Director or Key Managerial Personnel of the company and holds no shares in IRFC. He has also affirmed that he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any regulatory authority.
