In order to improve the efficiency of the state government’s administration and enhance the performance of senior officials, the Gujarat government has decided to form the Gujarat Administrative Reforms Commission

To monitor administrative systems, a commission to be set up under Hasmukh Adhiya by the Guj Govt.

The Gujarat State Finance Minister, Kanubhai Desai, during the presentation of the 2025-26 budget, announced the formation of this commission which will focus on evaluating the effectiveness of the administrative system in the state and will seek suggestions for improvements. The Chief Secretary of the state will also be a member of the commission. The commission will conduct a comprehensive review of the state's administrative structure and operations, and will consider whether any reforms or changes are necessary.

The commission will be chaired by Hasmukh Adhiya, the Chief Advisor to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and a retired IAS officer. Other members of the commission will include the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, and Secretary from the General Administration Department, Finance Department, and Science and Technology Department. The government has also included the Administrative Reforms and Training Department in the commission.

The commission will study the administrative and governance structure, human resource optimisation, human resource management, financial management, resource optimization, decentralization, local governance, the use of technology and innovation, and evaluation frameworks. Based on its findings, the commission will make recommendations to the government.
