Gujarat Govt Promotes Six IPS Officers To DGP, IG Rank

Manoj Sashidhar and Raju Bhargava have been promoted to the DGP rank. Nine IPS officers have been appointed as the Additional Superintendents of Police (ASP) as well

In two separate orders issued late on Monday night, the Gujarat government's Home Department promoted six IPS officers. Of them, two officers have been promoted to the Director General of Police (DGP) rank and four to the Inspector General (IG) rank. The department also posted nine officers from the 2022-2023 batch as Additional Superintendents of Police (ASP).

The IPS officers promoted to the DGP rank are Manoj Sashidhar (1994 batch), who is serving as the Special Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Raju Bhargava (1995 batch), who is currently the Additional Director General (ADGP) of Armed Units. Bhargava has been in situ promoted to the DGP rank, as the post he is holding has been upgraded. 

Among the four IPS officers (2007 batch) promoted to IG rank, three are on Central deputation, while another is serving in Gujarat. They are: 

Divya Mishra, who is currently posted as the Additional Deputy Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB); Deepan Bhadran, who currently holds the post of Director in the Senior Executive Cadre of the Cabinet Secretariat; and Saurabh Tolumbia, who is serving as the Advisor (Security) at Gas Authority of India Limited.

P.V. Rathod, who is currently the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of CID (Crime), Gujarat, has been promoted in situ to the IG rank.

Nine Officers Posted As ASP

Meanwhile, the Home Department also announced the posting of nine IPS officers from the 2022 and 2023 batches as Additional Superintendents of Police (ASP).

From the 2022 batch, Ankita Mishra was posted as the ASP of Aslali in Ahmedabad Rural; Ghanshyam Gautam in Bhavnagar Rural; and Akshay Mahendra Engineer as ASP in Surat Rural.

From the 2023 batch, Harsh Sharma was appointed as the ASP to Bodeli in Chhota Udepur; Gautam Vivekanandan to Mundra in Kutch; Vedika Bihani to Surendranagar Division; Naveen Chakravarti Repudi as the ASP to Jasdan in Rajkot Rural; Vikas Yadav to Santrampur in Mahisagar; and Sandip T. to Dharampur in Valsad.
