The Gujarat government will aggressively woo investments in the renewable energy sector to achieve 100 GW capacity by 2030.
Speaking at The Secretariat RE Conclave-Gujarat 2026 on Wednesday, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi assured that the State will be a safe destination for private investors to do business. "Gujarat is a safe destination for investment, and its fruits will be reaped by coming generations," Sanghavi said.
He further said that the government will extend support to the industry.

With 7.5 lakh houses now equipped with rooftop solar systems, the State has a share of 30% nationally, he added.
The State had a capacity of 90 MW of renewable energy capacity in 2003. It has now increased to over 24,500 MW.

The day-long RE conclave provided a platform for industry voices to discuss policies and their implementation. Issues related to land acquisition, concentrated solar power, wind, green hydrogen, and AgroPV, among others, were discussed.
Rushikesh Patel, Minister for Energy and Petrochemicals, and Ashwani Kumar, Principal Secretary of Energy & Petrochemicals Department, were among those who attended the RE conclave.
At the event, officials presented newly announced policies, while industry representatives provided suggestions and feedback to the government.
The conclave was supported by leading industry bodies, the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Gujarat Federation of Solar Industries, the Federation of Kutch Industries Association, the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries, and the Indian Chamber of Commerce.
