In a major bureaucratic reshuffle in Rajasthan, the state government has announced promotions and fresh postings of eight senior IAS officers, as two among them have been made Additional Chief Secretary and one officer has been given charge of the post of Special Secretary to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
According to the official notification issued on the last day of 2024, 2012-batch IAS officer Siddharth Sihag has been appointed the Special Secretary to the Chief Minister. He was previously serving as the Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister. With this promotion, he is considered to have come closer to the government’s decision-making processes.
Among other senior officers being promoted are 1995-batch IAS officer Praveen Gupta, who was serving as the principal secretary of the Public Works Department (PWD). He has been promoted to the Additional Chief Secretary rank and placed in the same department by upgrading the post.
Bhaskar Aatmaram Sawant, an IAS officer of the 1995-batch, who was previously the Principal Secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHD) and Ground Water Department, has now been elevated to the position of Additional Chief Secretary of the same departments.
IAS Manju Rajpal of the 2000-batch, who was the secretary and registrar of the Cooperative Department, has now been appointed Principal Secretary of the same departments.
IAS Debasish Prusty of the 2000-batch, who was the secretary in the Finance Department, has been promoted to Principal Secretary of the department.
IAS Kumar Pal Gautam (2009 batch), the Director and ex-officio Special Secretary of the Local Government Department, has been made Commissioner and Secretary of the same department.
Vishram Meena, a 2009-batch IAS officer who held the position of the Director and ex-officio Special Secretary of the Watershed Development and Soil Conservation Department (Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department), has been made the Commissioner and Secretary of the same departments.
IAS Tikamchand Bohra (2012 batch), who held the position of Joint Secretary, Finance Department, has been promoted to the role of Special Secretary in the same department.
