Prabodh Seth And RN Parbat Appointed As New Members Of The Central Board of Direct Taxes

Two revenue service officers of Income Tax cadre have been made members of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT)—the highest policy making body of the Income Tax.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet appointed Prabodh Seth and RN Parbat, both from the 1989 batch of Indian Revenue Service of Income Tax cadre.

Seth, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (PCCIT), International Taxation, has been appointed in place of Sanjai Kumar Verma.

Parbat is presently Director General, Investigation, in Lucknow. He has been appointed in place of Ravi Agrawal, who was recently elevated as the Chairman of CBDT after the extended tenure of Nitin Gupta ended on June 30th.
