Personnel reshuffle in the central administration

New Delhi: In a top level reshuffle, Anurag Jain has been shifted from the Ministry of Commerce and Industries to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways while Rajesh Kumar Singh has replaced Jain as Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industries and Internal Trade.

Both are 1989 batch IAS officers belonging to Madhya Pradesh and Kerala cadre respectively.

Rajesh Kumar Singh has been moved from what is known as insignificant post as Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.

Road Transport and Highway Secretary Alka Upadhyay has replaced Mr Singh as in the animal husbandry Ministry. She is also Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS of 1990 batch.

Secretary, Fertilisers, Arun Singhal, a 1987 batch IAS of UP cadre has been moved to the Ministry of Culture as Director General of National Archives of India.

Anjali Bhawra, lAS (PB:88), Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has been shifted as Secretary, National Commission for Minorities, Ministry of Minority Affairs from where the incumbent Mukhmeet Singh Bhatia has been moved as Chairperson, National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention.

Saurabh Garg, the CEO of Aadhaar or Unique Identification Authority of India (UIAI) appointed as Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.

Similarly, Abhilash Likhi, Haryana cadre IAS of 1991 batch, has been moved as OSD in the Department of Fisheries to take over as Secretary, Fisheries, after the superannuation of Jatindra Nath Swain on June 30, 2023.

Another 1991 batch Karnataka cadre IAS K Vidyavathi, Director General of Archeological Survey of India, has been posted as OSD in the Ministry of Tourism to take over as Tourism Secretary from Arvind Singh, who will be superannuating on May 31, 2023.
