Speaking on the issue, Atanu Mukherjee, CEO, Dastur Energy, explained that India is far better positioned today than in the past, thanks to a diversified sourcing strategy. He emphasised that while the US shale is less suited to Indian refineries, it still contributes to the overall blend. Currently, the US supplies about 5% of India’s crude, with potential to increase slightly.
