New IAS Officers Meet Gujarat CM Ahead Of First Postings

CM Bhupendra Patel urges eight new IAS officers to contribute to Gujarat’s growth and governance as they prepare for field training in district roles

Before heading out to their first field roles, a group of eight probationary IAS officers made a quick stop in Gandhinagar to pay a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. These fresh recruits from the 2024 batch are about to begin work as Assistant Collectors in different districts, marking the start of their careers on the ground.

The probationers have been assigned to the districts of Kheda, Amreli, Kutch, Rajkot, Bharuch, Tapi, Banaskantha, and Panchmahal, where they will take up responsibilities as supernumerary assistant collectors. These roles serve as stepping stones in their careers as public administrators.

Welcoming the officers, the Chief Minister described the moment as a significant milestone in their journey as civil servants. He emphasised Gujarat’s role as a model of development in India and expressed confidence that the new officers would contribute actively to the state’s progress. “This is a unique opportunity to serve people and contribute to building a developed Gujarat, which is integral to the vision of a developed India,” he added.

The Chief Minister also underscored the state’s reputation as a leader in growth and innovation, and urged the new officers to align their work with the broader vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).

The meeting was also attended by senior bureaucrats, including M.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister; Hareet Shukla, Principal Secretary, Administrative Reforms and Training Department; and Avantika Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister.

The interaction served as motivational beginning for the new officers, setting the tone for their roles in shaping policies and delivering governance in the heart of Gujarat.
