ACC approves key secretary-level appointments as Tanmay Kumar superannuates; Dilip Kumar moves from Skill Development Ministry

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved two key secretary-level appointments in the Central government, involving the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Department of Land Resources.
Narendra Bhooshan, IAS (UP:92), currently Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development, has been appointed Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. He succeeds Tanmay Kumar, IAS (RJ:93), who superannuates on September 30, 2026. The appointment is part of a secretary-level reshuffle approved by the ACC.
Following Bhooshan’s move, Dilip Kumar, IAS (PB:95), presently Director General (Training), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, has been appointed Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development. He will take over the post vacated by Bhooshan.
The ACC order was issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on September 30, 2026. Narendra Bhooshan had assumed charge as Secretary, Department of Land Resources earlier in April 2026.
