NA Permission to be Granted Within 10 Days in Gujarat

Lands held for agricultural purposes under new, indivisible or restricted conditions in rural and municipal areas to now be considered under old conditions

In a significant move, the Gujarat government has announced that it will expedite the process of obtaining land revenue certificates for non-agricultural purposes, with non-agricultural (NA) permission being granted within 10 days of application.

The decision, taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, states that agricultural lands in rural and municipal areas, previously categorised under new, indivisible or restricted conditions, will now be treated under old conditions.

State spokesperson and Minister Rushikesh Patel stated that this move will accelerate industrialization, business, employment and the process of affordable housing initiatives.

Apart from municipal corporations, urban authority areas, and the development boards of Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Junagadh, all new, indivisible and restricted category lands across the state will be treated under the old condition lands. As a result, farmers will be exempted from paying the premium required for condition changes. Additionally, the concerned taluka officers are mandated to suo-motu update the land conversion records accordingly.
