MK Das and Avantika Singh become more powerful in Gujarat CMO
Principal Secretary's appointment announcement anticipated soon to complete the IAS trio in Chief Minister’s Office

With Pankaj Joshi getting appointed as the Chief Secretary of the state, MK Das, who is working as an additional chief secretary, and Avantika Singh, the secretary to the Chief Minister, have become more powerful. Until new announcements and further developments, these two officers will be allocated portfolios which were earlier handled by Pankaj Joshi when he was additional chief secretary to the chief minister.
A total of 20 important high-ranking officers are working in the Chief Minister's Office. Of these 20, eight have retired but have been given a superannuation contractual extension.
The working methodologies of the Chief Advisor Dr. Hasmukh Adhia and Advisor SS Rathore, who handle policy matters are quite different from all these officers. A total of seven officers are serving as Officers on Special Duty (OSD) in the Chief Minister's Office.
Apart from Pankaj Joshi, MK Das – Additional Chief Secretary & Avantika Singh -- Secretary, will be the only two IAS serving, while three IAS are required in CMO. Hence, a principal secretary appointment announcement is anticipated soon.
