Avantika Singh Aulakh, a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2003 batch (Gujarat cadre), in a recent appellation, has become Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Having served as Secretary to the Chief Minister since September 2021, this comes as recognition of her administrative acumen and sustained contribution to governance in the state.
Avantika Singh Aulakh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), Delhi, and a Master’s in Public Administration from the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School. Her academic background brings a strong mix of technical expertise and public policy insight to governance.
Over her distinguished two-decade career in public service, she has held several key administrative positions across Gujarat. She has served as District Collector in major districts including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bharuch, and Anand, and was twice awarded the Best District Collector Award by the state government for her work in Vadodara (2015–16) and Bharuch (2012–13).
Her dedication to public service and electoral integrity earned her the National Award for Best Electoral Practices from the Election Commission of India in both 2012 and 2017. In 2018, she was honored with a national award under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme for her work as Collector of Ahmedabad.
